Botox Treatment in Tampa
Botox and other neuromodulators are widely used cosmetic procedures. An injection with the correct dose produces natural-looking results. Dr. Sergay offers Botox treatments based on your facial anatomy and goals.

Natural, Refreshed Results
How Botox Works
Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) and other neuromodulators — Dysport, Xeomin, Daxxify — temporarily relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles: the lines that form from repeated facial expressions like squinting, frowning, and raising the brows. The treatment takes minutes, requires no downtime, and results last 3–5 months.
Botox results depend on precise placement and appropriate dosing. Dr. Sergay evaluates your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and goals to determine where and how much to inject.
Botox is also used medically for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and has emerging applications in treating rosacea flushing and some types of chronic pain — reflecting the broad versatility of this FDA-approved treatment.

What We Treat
Botox Treatment Areas
Botox can address a wide range of cosmetic concerns. Dr. Sergay will assess your anatomy and recommend the areas most likely to benefit from treatment.
Forehead Lines
Most RequestedHorizontal lines across the forehead caused by frontalis muscle movement. Best treated with conservative dosing to preserve natural brow movement and avoid heaviness.
Glabella ("11s")
High ImpactThe vertical lines between the brows that form from frowning. One of the highest-satisfaction treatment areas — eliminating these lines creates a more relaxed, approachable appearance without looking done.
Crow's Feet
Very PopularFine lines radiating from the outer corners of the eyes from squinting and smiling. Small doses create a significant improvement in eye area appearance and are one of the most natural-looking Botox results.
Brow Lift
Subtle LiftStrategic relaxation of the brow depressors allows the frontalis to lift the outer brow, creating a subtle lift without surgery. Ideal for patients with mild brow ptosis or a tired-looking appearance.
Bunny Lines
Detail WorkDiagonal wrinkles on the sides of the nose that appear when scrunching. Often appear after other areas are treated. Small doses address these lines while maintaining natural nose movement.
Jawline / Masseter
Slimming + TMJBotox injected into the masseter muscle can slim a wide or square jawline and provide significant relief for jaw clenching and TMJ pain. Results develop over 4–6 weeks as the muscle gradually softens.
Neck Bands (Platysma)
Neck RejuvenationNefertiti lift — Botox along the platysmal bands of the neck softens vertical neck cords and provides a subtle lift to the lower face and jawline without surgery.
Hyperhidrosis (Underarms)
Medical UseFDA-approved use of Botox to block the nerves that trigger sweat glands in the underarms, palms, or feet. Dramatically reduces excessive sweating for 6–12 months per treatment.
The Process
What to Expect
From first consultation through maintenance, here's how the Botox experience works at Sergay Dermatology.
Consultation
Dr. Sergay evaluates your facial anatomy, reviews your goals, and discusses which areas and products will give you the best outcome. First-time patients receive a thorough orientation to what realistic results look like.
Treatment
Tiny injections are administered with a fine needle. Most patients describe it as a quick pinch. The full treatment takes 15–30 minutes. No anesthesia is needed, though a topical numbing cream can be applied if preferred.
Immediate Aftercare
Avoid lying flat and vigorous exercise for 4 hours post-treatment. Minor redness or pinpoint bruising may occur at injection sites. No rubbing or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours.
Results Develop
Botox doesn't work instantly. Results begin appearing within 3–5 days and reach full effect at 2 weeks. A follow-up appointment can be scheduled to evaluate results and address any asymmetry.
Maintenance
Results typically last 3–5 months. Regular treatment helps train muscles and may extend the interval between sessions over time. Many patients find results improve with consistent treatment.

Common Questions
Botox FAQ
Not with proper technique and dosing. The 'frozen' look results from too much product or poor placement. Dr. Sergay uses conservative, anatomically-informed dosing that relaxes targeted muscles while preserving natural expression. The goal is for people to notice you look rested — not that you had Botox.
All are botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators that work the same way. They differ slightly in molecular structure and diffusion characteristics. Dysport may onset faster. Xeomin has no complexing proteins, which some prefer. Dr. Sergay will recommend the product best suited to the treatment area and your goals.
Most patients describe the injections as a quick pinch — similar to a small bug bite. The needles used are very fine, and the discomfort is brief. Topical numbing cream is available if you're concerned about sensitivity.
Absolutely. Botox pairs very well with dermal fillers (for volume), chemical peels and LaseMD Ultra (for skin texture and tone), and microneedling. Dr. Sergay can design a comprehensive cosmetic plan that addresses multiple concerns in a coordinated way.
There's no universal right age — it depends on your skin, anatomy, and goals. Many patients in their late 20s to early 30s start with preventive Botox to slow the formation of deep-set lines. Others begin in their 40s or 50s to soften existing lines. Dr. Sergay will give you an honest assessment of whether you'd benefit.
The muscles simply return to normal activity and the treated lines gradually reappear — typically over 3–5 months. Your face doesn't look worse than before you started. There's no dependency or negative consequence to stopping treatment.
Botox has an excellent long-term safety record. It has been FDA-approved since 1989 for various medical and cosmetic uses. Decades of clinical use have not shown evidence of long-term harm from repeated cosmetic dosing. Any local side effects (bruising, temporary asymmetry) resolve on their own.
